Moodboard Inspiration - My first Dusty Attic blog post

Hello everyone and welcome to my first ever Dusty Attic blogpost!

I love chipboard and flowers, is there any better scrappy combination? Dusty Attic has the most amazing designs and I couldnt be more thankful to Jennifer Hedger and Jen Burns for having me on the team!
This is a dream come true for me!

Let me say that opening my DT package was a thrilling experience. All these beautiful products, the chipboard, the flowers, the acrylics and the stencils inspired me to scrap in a most romantic way.
Here is our January moodboard

And this is my layout

I treated the backgroung with a script DA stencil and Shimmerz Texturez.

The word "Special" was first primed with gesso and then painted with Twinkling H2Os. I cut the corners from the elegant chain and I tucked them in my clusters. To achieve a different shade of the same color, I used the same paint but I didnt gesso the piece first. I treated the Scrolls the same way.

I painted the Ivy corners with Finnabair Mica Powder mixed with gloss medium. I generously dabbed the leaves with paint to get extra texture. When the leaves were dry, I dilluted Dusty in Color Raisin with lots of water and I washed the leaves in oder to highlight the raised areas. It gave the leaves a kind of succulent look.

REMEMBER
all chipboard can be purchased direct from the Dusty Attic website, and there is free shipping when you order over $75.00 worth world wide.

Smile - Altered food can for Scrapki-Wyzwaniowo

Hello and Happy New Year!

2015 was a good year for me and my family and I am so excited for 2016! This year begins with high hopes but also with much love!

Now, to our artsy stuff! This January we have an amazing challenge over at Scrapki-Wyzwaniowo! Altered item! Oh yes! You may create an item from scratch or alter one.

My choice for this challenge was to alter a food tin. Ever since Janka presented her altered sardines can for Mixed Media Place back in July, the idea was swirling in my head. Tin cans all the rage now but I couldnt help but to make one. This is my take. I had so much fun making this project!

I covered my can with white gesso and after that I applied a generous amount of Finnabair white crackle paste. I let it dry overnight and then I painted my can with a mixture of gloss gel medium and Finnabair's Rust mica podwer. After it dried, I made another mixture of gloss gel medium and Teal mica powder but I used much more gel medium so the paint was runny. I did that because I wanted the custon paint to both stay on the surface but also I wanted it to get inside the amazing cracks.

I embellished it with Petallo Teal Flowers and 7 dots All I ever collection chipboard, some Mechanicals, 13 arts sizal bristle (my newest addiction) and to finish it off, I applied Finnabair's Butter Microbeads and Copper glass glitter.

As always there are amazing prizes for you to win. Come join us!

Wild - My first More than Words blog post!

Hello everyone and Happy New Year!

I am so so excited because 2016 will be an amazing year! This is our first challenge of our new blog More than Words and I have been dying to present it to you!

Our Main Challenge is based on a Word inspiration and a Creative Challenge.
This challenge is open to layouts, canvases and art journal pages only.

What does the word "PERSONALITY" inspire you to create?
You can choose to use the word somewhere on your project or
simply be inspired to create from it. Please explain in your blog post
how it inspired you, if not already obvious.

The creative challenge is to use a "SELFIE".
It is as easy as that! For your project, you can use a selfie of yourself or anyone else
(kids, husband, best friend, etc).
Or, if you have no selfie, any photo of you will be fine.

This is my take on the challenge

I probably am the last dinosaur on this planet who doesn't take selfies!  I had to take 50 or more to get one partly right.  I may look wild because of the platinum pixie hair and the tattoos, but there is a softer side in me, which I strive to conceal.  Those who know me are aware of its existence.  So I go wild with Finnabair graphite paste and scissors, but I am also a sensitive girl with pink, glitter and various Finnabair Art ingredients and what else? Prima flowers of course!
