Pink ATCs for 13 arts

Hello crafty friends!

In case you havent noticed I am on an ATC frenzy lately - and there is yet more to come lol

I enjoy working on such a smale scale and experiment and most important to complete something relatively quickly - considering there are two hyperactive toddlers and a teenager in this house!

So, here are my pink ATCs made for the 13arts blog challenge #39 - Think Pink

Some closer views.

On this one I scrunched Tim Holtz tissue paper and applied it on my base paper with gel medium. I then misted with water and Chalk Dity pink which is the most amazing pink ever! Several die cuts, a 13 arts flower and microspheres and voila!

Same tissue paper here as well.

Plain watercolor paper, stamped and stenciled and then misted with chalk dirty pink. Lots of microspheres too.

Magical - ATC for More than Words

Hello and welcome to my More than Words February Mini Challenge blogpost!

Here is our new challenge board:
Here's how it works:

The Mini Challenge runs on the last week of each month and is for
cards, tags and ATCs only. (ATCs, or Artist Trading Cards, are small works of art, about 2.5 by 3.5 inches or 64 x 89mm). This challenge requires you to use a specific word on your project. We must see the actual word. You have only one week - until the last day of the month - to enter, so be quick!

Entry for the Mini Challenge is only via our Facebook page
under the relevant post.

The winner will receive a $25 voucher from Dusty Attic,
our fabulous Mini Challenge sponsor.

And just to sweeten the deal, all our prizes
include free shipping to anywhere in the world!

You can see all our rules under the Rules tab at the top of MtW blog.

Here is my magical ATC

I used 13 arts paper, Finnabair Graphite paste through a butterfly stencil and the most amazing chipboard ATC frame by Dusty Attic - a must have for all those who create small scale projects, that I heat embossed with two different Lindy's Stamp Gang embossing powders. A Finnabair butterfly stamp on vellum paper, a Tim Holtz pen nib and a 7Dots Studio sticker.

Are you going to give the Mini Challenge a go this month? You can enter it HERE, but be quick - you only have until 11:59pm EST on Monday the 29th of February!

Our Main Challenge closes at the same time. It isn't at all necessary to enter our
Main Challenge as well, although you are more than welcome to!

Art - Altered Notebook

Hello crafty friends! This time I want to show you a notebook I transformed.

Being in several design teams, I sometimes find it hard to remember by heart all my deadlines and challenges. Thus, i was in a desperate need of a notebook to keep me organised.
Digging thoorugh my craft space, I found a simple little notebook with a pain blue cover.
That was it, it practicalle begged me to alter it lol

I covered the cover with black gesso and then glued a Dusty Attic chipboard frame, a Prima flower and a pair of scissors my friend Yasmin had sent me - arent they amazingly cute? Everything was given a coat of black gesso. The little tassel was originally bordeaux and I have kept it in my stash forever - I cant even remeber where it is from. I misted it black.
After that I sprayed everhting - including the tassel - with mists made with Finnabair mica powders. Pure magic in a jar I tell you!. I glued my title and some art ingredients and then at the end I sprayed some white gesso to highlight several areas.
I wanted to keep my cover without bulk so I could use both sides of the paper. Frugal, right?

Memory - LO for Dusty Attic

Hello everyone!

Here I am today with my second February layout using the gorgeous Dusty Attic products.

This is a vintage layout dedicated to my husband's grandmother who passed away recently. I scrapped this photo of her and my husband the night she passed away. We are all heartbroken, she was the sweetest person and a loving great-grandmother to all...

I colored the DA Texture Paste with Dusty in color Pesto and I applied it through a doily stencil to compliment the beautiful DA Doily chipboard. The Doily chipboard was first primed with gesso and then heat embossed with two different copper embossing powders.

I heat embossed the other chippboard pieces with various copper embossing powders for a coherent vintage/ rustic look.

Dusty Attic February Moodboard

Hello crafty friends!

I am back with my February Dusty Attic post on our sweet and vintage moodboard.

I loved the muted blues and the gray tones of the moodboard
and the vintage style inspired me so much!

Here is my layout with a photo of my two sons.

The soft grey of the moodboard was a perfect match to the natural color of the chipboard pieces. I left the Feather Charms and the titlte raw. The engravings on the feathers are so deep and intricate that I fell in love with them immediately!

I painted the Lattice backgroung chipboard with Dusty in Color Denim - it is such a rich blue that complimented perfectly my papers.

Aren't these feathers amazing?

Wonderful Time - LO for More than Words

Hello all and welcome!

Here I am sharing with you our More than Word 2nd Main Challenge reveal already!

We could not be more thrilled at your amazing response to More Than Words in just a little over a month! With over 500 blog followers, almost 1500 followers on Facebook, Pinterest and Instagram combined along with more than 150 entries to our January challenges (Main & Mini), we are extremely happy and grateful to be part of such a talented and inspiring community of artists!

I know you all are wondering what our February challenge is, so here goes...

Our Main Challenge is based on a Word Inspiration and a Creative Challenge.
This challenge is open to layouts, canvases and art journal pages only.

Word Inspiration - WONDERFUL
Creative Challenge - SPARKLE

Use the word "WONDERFUL" as inspiration to create your project!
You can chose to use the word somewhere on your project or to simply be inspired by it.  Please explain in your blog post how it inspired you if it not obvious.

Our creative challenge is "SPARKLE".
We want to see projects that sparkle and shine! Add some subtle shimmer to your project or some serious bling - it's up to you. Anything that shines is fine!

VERY IMPORTANT!!!  You have to incorporate both parts of the challenge, that is the word inspiration and the creative challenge, on your project in order to be eligible for a prize.  Remember that our challenge concept is all about a WORD and more (thus our name More Than Words)! :)  When we vote, we specifically look for projects that display BOTH requirements, and not just the creative challenge.  Just look at our DT members' interpretation, as described underneath their project, as example.

Please check out our RULES to make sure that you are eligible for one of our prizes!
We have kept these rules very simple for you to play along.  One of them is that
you must post our board image and a link to our blog in your entry post.

Here is my take

What shines better than gold? And the contrast of gold against a black background makes it SPARKLE even brighter! I chose to scrap a photo of a ladies' night out. After all, best friends always have the most WONDERFUL time!

Chipboard flourish is from Dusty Attic. Doily, stencil, leaves, mist, flowers and art ingredients are all from Prima Marketing.
